School Program - Overview

Overview
Welcome to eFoodhandlers®. eFoodhandlers is a strong advocate for food safety education among middle and high-school students and has developed systems that simplify a school teacher's ability to administrater a Basic Food Safety training program among their students. The following pages provide instructions for both Teachers and Students.

For Teachers

Teachers who will be teaching a class in food safety from eFoodhandlers will require a teacher account. This site allows self registration provided your school system and district have set-up permission in-advance. If you have questions about the status of your school district, please contact SchoolServices@eFoodhandlers.com

Setting up a Teacher Account
Use the New Teacher Registration link on the right to set up your Teacher's Account. The set-up will require the following information:
- School System ID
- School System Password
- District ID

You should acquire these from your eFoodhandlers liasion. You can also acquire them from SchoolServices@eFoodhandlers.com.

Setting up a Class
A class consists of a Course record assigned to your Teacher Account. Students are built inside this Class by the Teacher or the student can self-register and select this Class to insert inside their student record. To set-up a Class entry, you will need to know:
- School name (select from dropdown)
- Class name
- Term or Semester
- Is Class active or inactive

Assigning Students to a Class
In order for students to access the course, they will need to have a Student Account. There are two ways to set up these accounts.
1. Teachers can set them up in advance.
2. Students can self-register

In order to create a student account, the following information is requested.
- Student ID
- Student Name
- Class Name (from dropdown)
- Email Address (optional)

Using the Class
Registered students who have a qualified class assigned to the profile will have access to the course. To access the course after registering, simply select from the many Take the Course buttons on the website. Students should not have to pay. If students are requested to pay, this means that a valid Class is not assigned to their account. Teachers can assign the student to their class in their admin tool. Students can also set the course using the Edit Profile tool. Refer to instructions under Study Process to understand the required steps to complete the course.
